Orthopedic orthodontics is the practice of guiding the growth of the oral structure as a whole. This early intervention, also referred to as functional orthodontics, can shorten the secondary phase of care, which is focused on the positioning of teeth. That being said, orthopedic orthodontics can also be tailored to adults in need of correction.
