How does the CBCT scanner work?
The patient is properly situated in either a seated or standing position. The patient is positioned in a way that stabilizes the head, and a chin positioning bar for the patient to rest their chin. Once the patient is properly positioned, the CBCT scanner starts to work. The device has a special detector that rotates around the head in a 360-degree manner, taking images faster and more effectively than a traditional dental x-ray. The entire process takes less than a minute, and patients are able to return to their treatment room as their dental staff evaluates the images for the desired purpose. Our team can also show patients their images on the in-office screens to explain to patients the diagnosis they receive.
